Quality genuine leather is used to manufacture and supply all sorts of leather & leather goods in Bangladesh. At present about 214 tanneries are in operation to produce leathers of cow, calf, goat & buffalo, leather is exported in two forms viz. finished & crust. Yearly production of leather is over 128.61 million sft., worth 195.48 million US dollar approximately. This range differs from year to year in progression of course.
IBC undertakes promotion of export of leather & leather products in collaboration with the tanneries to different countries mainly: HongKong, Italy, France, Spain, Japan, China, Brazil, Taiwan, UK, Germany, Korea, Russia, USA, Netherlands, Australia, Mexico, etc. leather goods exportable mainly are: hand gloves, Jackets, Shirts, sandals shoes, bags, leather parts, vest coat, passport cover, ornament bag, makeup box, wallet purse etc.
